We are well
underway with rehearsals for our upcoming production of Walk Two Moons and are very excited about the stellar cast we have
been able to assemble for this show. Now I want to introduce them to you!
So over the next few weeks, up until opening on November 5th, we
will be posting interviews with these amazing people about working on the show. We thank them all for
their hard work and hope you enjoy getting to know a little more about them.
Up first – beautiful and talented ASC Artistic Ensemble Member, Dani Bryant,
who plays Margaret, Mary Lou and a Nurse!
ASC: Are
there any proverbs or sayings that hold special meaning for you?
Dani: “Laughter is the best medicine."
ASC: Which character in the story do you most associate with?
Dani: Definitely Phoebe! I was a very dramatic kid.
ASC: Did you have a wild imagination as a child like Phoebe?
Dani: Yes indeed, being an only child I had to find ways of entertaining
myself! This usually meant playing in the woods building forts and making up
complex plays for my Mom to watch.
ASC: What moment in the show has had the deepest impact on you?
Spoiler
Alert, responses may reveal details about the end of the show!!!!
Dani: The moment when Sal tells her Dad, "Phoebe's Mom came home"
and then runs to hug him.
ASC: Have you ever been on a road trip? If so, tell us about it.
If not, what is a road trip you’d like to take?
Dani: All my road trips were without cool stops,
just long drives to final destinations. I would love to do a real road trip and
take my time to see the whole ding dong country! Especially the Southwest.
ASC: Did you read the novel? If so, how did the novel help you
develop your character?
Dani:
The novel has lovely little extra
tidbits about Mary Lou and Margaret which helped round out there personalities.
Also, I'm reading Absolutely Normal Chaos--a whole book about Mary Lou--
which gave me lots of insight about how her little brain works.
ASC: What connection do you have to your character?
Dani: I can't say I have ever been in Margaret's situation, but I can relate to
her desire to connect with Sal.
ASC: What do you think the message of this story is?
Dani:
Sometimes we must witness other people’s
stories and/or pain to come to terms with our own.
Thanks for the insight Dani! We can’t wait to see you bring your
characters to life on stage. Also, special thanks to Merissa Shunk for doing
the interviewing. We’ll post another actor’s interview on Thursday, so be sure
to check back for more!
