Meet the Cast of Walk Two Moons- Millie Hurley

Let’s meet another super-fabulous cast member of Walk Two Moons! As I mentioned before, we think this group of actors rocks and up until opening on November 5th, we will be posting cast interviews twice a week. We thank them all for their hard work, and hope you enjoy getting to know a little more about them. Up now – to know her is to love her, Millie Hurley, who plays Gram, Mrs. Partridge and a Police Officer!

ASC: Are there any proverbs or sayings that hold special meaning for you?
Millie: "Everyone has his own agenda"

ASC: Which character in the story do you most associate with?
Millie: Several actually, but I can see myself in later years as Mrs. Partridge (hopefully not blind) reading murder mysteries and running around leaving "life's lessons" on peoples porches or in their mailboxes!

ASC: Did you have a wild imagination as a child like Phoebe?
Millie: Oh, absolutely. She is another one of the character's I identify with!

ASC: What moment in the show has had the deepest impact on you?
Millie: When the Sheriff asks Sal why she is in the bus in Lewiston.

ASC: Have you ever been on a road trip? If so, tell us about it. If not, what is a road trip you’d like to take?
Millie: I drove from Minneapolis to NY and then Maine with several friends when I was around 25. We had a blast because we knew what places we wanted to get to, but we never quite knew where we were going to stay at night along the way. Even if we were really tired after sightseeing or traveling that day, if a motel looked like it housed an axe murderer, we would pass it up until we found one we all found "safe" looking!!!! We would laugh and laugh about the horrors that would have happened to us had we not passed up those evil places! Oddly enough, we did end up in a "haunted" B & B...that' another story!

ASC: Did you read the novel? If so, how did the novel help you develop your character?
Millie: I read the novel and for Gram, it gives me background on the love, strong sense of fun, adventure, and the true bonding Gramps and Gram have in their lives. For Mrs. Partridge, you see she has kept her integrity and sense of playfulness- though she has lost her son, her sight and is very forgetful!

ASC: What connection do you have to your character?
Millie: Oh, I saw that bonding with my parents and my husband I have it, so that would be for Gram. For Mrs. Partridge? I am an avid reader of murder mysteries and can tease folks a little!

ASC: What do you think the message of this story is?
Millie: Live and love in the moment. (I particularly remember the part in the book where a baby calf looks Sal in the eye and she totally forgets about her missing her mother).

ASC: What challenges have you faced or do you anticipate facing with this production?
Millie: Working on more than one character in a show is always challenging, you want to make sure they are very individual characters. I think the transitions will be the biggest challenge!

ASC: What are you hoping someone will ask you after the show?
Millie: That I will sign their program!

Thank you Millie! We can’t wait to meet you bring your characters to life onstage. As always, special thanks to Merissa STEWART for doing the interviewing. We’ll post another actor’s interview on Monday, so be sure to check back for more!
